What You Need to Know About JMC's Curriculum
- JMC majors must complete an eight-course core and at least one of five tracks – a total of just under 40 hours, depending on track. Overlapping track requirements permit many students to complete two or more tracks.
- There is an interdisciplinary graphic design program with Fine and Performing Arts with somewhat different requirements.
- JMC majors can receive up to 12 hours of credit for internships and independent studies although they are not required. Click here to see the internship requirements.
- JMC writing, computer graphics and photography courses are limited to a maximum of 22 students (the number of computers in the larger laboratory classroom).
- JMC’s laboratory-classrooms are open to majors from 8 a.m. to midnight seven days a week to allow them access to the department’s specialized software programs required to do assignments.
- JMC is an excellent pre-law requirement.
- JMC works closely with COBA’s Marketing Department to allow JMC majors to take business courses and vice versa. JMC majors can complete a business certificate.
